Michel Gondry: Do It Yourself

Michel Gondry is a French filmmaker. He has been working for more than thirty years. He became known for music videos. Later he made feature films. What his work has in common is that it is handmade. Instead of computers he uses cardboard, string and scissors. He leaves in the things that look imperfect on purpose. The documentary is about that way of working. How he works in his workshop is shown. His brothers and musicians he has worked with speak. Among them are names from electronic music. The account is built on both praise and fault. Gondry talks about his own failures too. Michel Gondry speaks about himself in the eighty minute documentary, a French production François Nemeta finished in 2023.
