What Elton John: Never Too Late Is About
Elton John is preparing for his final concert in North America, at Dodger Stadium. He first played that stage in 1975. The documentary moves back and forth between those two dates: the shy boy called Reginald Dwight, the partnership with Bernie Taupin, the albums arriving one after another, the collapse at the end of the seventies, the years of addiction, and the matter with his father that never closed. R.J. Cutler and David Furnish directed it together, with Elton John telling it himself; Furnish is also his husband. Archive footage, audio recordings and animation are used side by side. It describes how fast the fame arrived and what it cost, at the same time.
