What Mine Own Executioner Is About
Molly Lucian is afraid that her husband Adam will harm someone; he has come back from the war with a serious trauma and will not agree to see a proper psychiatrist. She turns to Felix Milne, who is not a doctor but has long done this work, and Milne reluctantly takes the case. While trying to bring out what Adam cannot remember, his own marriage is falling apart, and he repeats the same mistakes between his profession and his life. Anthony Kimmins’s hundred and eight minute British film was adapted from Nigel Balchin’s novel of the same name and takes its title from a text by John Donne. Burgess Meredith plays Milne and Kieron Moore plays Adam; it was completed in 1947.
