My Trip to Al-Qaeda

At the centre of the documentary is the journalist Lawrence Wright. Wright worked on this subject for a long time. First he put together a one man play. The film takes off from that play. Wright speaks on stage. Among the subjects are the attacks of the eleventh of September. How Al-Qaeda grew in strength is set out as well. The past of Osama bin Laden is taken up. His relations with the Saudi rulers are covered too. There are sections on the history of Islam. Wright does not leave one question aside either. Can a reporter stay objective while writing on such matters. Alex Gibney directed the eighty six minute documentary. The American production was finished in 2010.
