What My Wife's Husband Is About
After thirteen years in Germany, Fernand comes back to his wife and his restaurant. In his absence she has made a life with a chef from Normandy. The man is decent enough; the trouble is in the kitchen, because he cooks everything in butter and Fernand cooks in oil. The old culinary divide between the north and south of France carries the whole joke. Fernandel and Bourvil, the two most loved comedians of the period, play it together. Gilles Grangier directed; a hundred minutes. It did very well in France. The French title means Cooking with Butter.
