What National Class Category Up to 785ccm Is About
Branimir Mitrović, known as Floyd, is a young rally driver living in Belgrade. He races in the national class for small-engine cars and dreams of moving up a category. Beyond that he cares about nothing: he neglects his girlfriend, ignores his call-up notices and takes on no responsibility at all. One week of his life is told, up to the decisive race on Saturday. Goran Marković's film is about the young generation in Yugoslavia at the end of the seventies: eager, full of talk, committed to nothing all the way. The comedy is light but the picture underneath it is not. Dragan Nikolić plays Floyd. It is counted among the best-loved Yugoslav films of its time and is still often cited.
