What New Battles Without Honor and Humanity 2: Head of the Boss Is About
On the Kyushu side of the Kanmon Straits the Owada family is coming apart from inside. Kuroda, an itinerant gambler, steps in when a hit by the drug-addicted assassin Kusunoki goes wrong, and takes the fall on the family’s behalf and goes to prison. When he comes out he finds that none of what he was promised has been honoured, and starts working through the bosses one at a time. Kinji Fukasaku released the second film of the new strand of the series in November 1975, with Bunta Sugawara again leading alongside Meiko Kaji and Tsunehiko Watase. Each of these films tells a separate story and keeps demonstrating how empty the word honour is.
