What No Man's Land Is About
The young lawyer Pan Xiao gets a poacher acquitted of running down a policeman in the western desert and takes the man's car as his fee. The drive home turns into a test: a petrol station, truckers, the poacher's men and hundreds of kilometres nobody is watching. Ning Hao builds China's own wild west and asks one question, what a person is when nobody can see. It sat on the shelf for four years before censors let it out. The director of Crazy Racer drops the comedy here for something much harder, with Xu Zheng and Huang Bo again.
