Pianoforte

The documentary follows a piano competition. It is the International Chopin Piano Competition. It is held in Warsaw once every five years. Most of those taking part are young. All of them have prepared for it for years. The camera stays backstage. Rehearsals and waiting are recorded. The days of the rounds pass in tension. Some go through and some are cut. Families and teachers are part of the account too. The waiting is as much the subject as the music. Alexander Gadjiev and Eva Gevorgyan appear in the ninety one minute documentary, with Leonora Armellini and Hao Rao also taking part, a Czech, German and Polish coproduction Jakub Piatek finished in 2023.
