The Sharma family moves into a house on the edge of the city that has a name for itself. In it live the parents, their daughter Manisha and their grandson Bunty, whose own parents died in an accident. Before long strange things begin to happen; a cat taken for dead comes back, a friend of Manisha’s is killed, and attacks on the household follow one after another. Whether the cause is natural or supernatural is left open to the end. The film builds its fear through sound and empty space, and came to be counted among the few works in Indian cinema that took the horror genre seriously. Revathi and Om Puri appear in Ram Gopal Varma’s hundred and twenty seven minute Indian film, completed in 1992.
