What Rann Is About
Vijay Harshvardhan Malik owns a respected news channel and still practises journalism the old way, on principle, which is why his channel sits low in the ratings. After a terrorist attack, when his own newsroom and a rival channel start competing for viewers, the line between journalism and sensation disappears and politics comes into it as well. Ram Gopal Varma wrote and directed it, aiming squarely at the ratings pressure inside television news. Amitabh Bachchan leads, with Riteish Deshmukh, Paresh Rawal and Sudeep in the cast. It opened on 29 January 2010. The Turkish summary in the record reads like machine translation and does not describe the film; the English text is sound.
