Sengoku Basara: The Last Party

The story is set in Japan’s Sengoku period. The conflict Toyotomi Hideyoshi set off has ended. The country is still divided. Who will be shogun is not settled. What will settle it is the battle of Sekigahara. The film takes place before that battle. The lords are making their own calculations. Alliances are formed and broken. The story comes from an animated series. The film closes that story off. Its title means the last party. The action is exaggerated rather than realistic. History is used here as a ground to stand on. Kazuya Nakai, Tomokazu Seki and Soichiro Hoshi provide voices in the ninety five minute film, a Japanese production Kazuya Nomura finished in 2011.
