What Sister Street Fighter: Hanging by a Thread Is About
Koryu goes to Yokohama looking for a missing woman named Birei. The trail leads to a diamond smuggling ring that moves its stones by surgically placing them inside the bodies of women it has lured in. Koryu's older sister is inside the same circle as a jewellery designer, and she is not there by choice. Kazuhiko Yamaguchi directed the film, the second instalment in the Sister Street Fighter series. Etsuko Shihomi does all her own fighting, and a woman being pushed this far to the front was uncommon in Japanese action cinema of the seventies. The cutting is fast and the fights are hard and bloody. The material plainly belongs to exploitation cinema; what holds the film up is Shihomi's physical presence.
