What Delinquent Girl Boss: Worthless to Confess Is About
Kazuhiko Yamaguchi’s 1971 Toei picture follows Rika, just out of reform school. She tracks down the father of one of the girls she was inside with, finds that the local yakuza are squeezing him out of his car repair shop, and goes to work there. At the same time a yakuza recently released from prison and now seriously ill is trying to build a life with his girlfriend, another graduate of the same reform school. A car crash puts the two lines on a collision course and the film ends in an open reckoning. It is the last of the four-film series carried by Reiko Oshida, one of the best-known entries in the pinky violence cycle, and its finale is regularly cited as an influence on Kill Bill.
