The second year of a Prague high school goes up into the mountains for a compulsory skiing course. With them are Bozenka, an experienced teacher, Hanka, a fresh graduate whose illusions are still intact, and Kardy, a strict master who has brought his daughter along. As they settle into the mountain lodge, new and unexpected relations form between the students and their teachers. Karel Smyczek’s film became a generation’s teen comedy in Czechoslovakia. It was shot with real high school pupils and won a prize at the children’s film festival in Gijon; a sequel followed years later.
