What Sound Eroticism Is About
A crate factory in the middle of nowhere, staffed entirely by women, with the crates nobody buys piling up in the yard. The fire warden, who is already storing stolen petrol among the flammable stock, installs a camera in the women’s changing room and uses it as a business connection. In his first film Peter Timar shot most of the takes backwards and reversed them, giving everyone a strange twitching motion. This black and white satire narrowly escaped a ban and shows the last years of eastern European socialism as a cheerful rot; hundreds of thousands saw it in Hungary.
