Star Spangled Rhythm

Pop is a security guard at a film studio. The place he works is Paramount. He has told his son that he runs the studio. One day the son comes to Hollywood on leave. He brings friends from the navy with him. Pop has to keep the lie going. He calls the switchboard operator in to help. The two of them manage the charade together. They receive everyone as if he owned the studio. Then the business grows. Pop agrees to put together a show for the navy. The studio’s famous players are to appear in the show. So a new job is piled on top of the lie. Victor Moore leads the cast, and Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Fred MacMurray appear as well, in George Marshall’s American film of 1942.
