The town of Chanderi is under threat again. This time there is a headless being abducting women: Sarkata. Vicky and his friends have to make an alliance with the spirit they dealt with in the first film. Amar Kaushik directed. The cast includes Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. It became the highest-earning Indian production of 2024 and broke box office records for Hindi cinema. It belongs to an interconnected horror comedy universe; characters from different films come together here and the closing scene keeps the chain going. The humour is social as in the first film: that one was about men afraid of women, this one targets those who cannot bear women speaking. The horror side is weak and the production does not mind; the aim is crowded-hall entertainment. Who it is for: viewers who like Indian horror comedy and franchise films. Who it is not for: anyone who has not seen the first; the story is built directly on it.
