The Beach Guard in Winter

A young man lives with his family. His parents’ marriage is not working. The house is full of that tension. He wants to make his own way. He has finished school. The diploma brings no work. The search drags on. In the end an offer comes. He is to guard a beach through the winter. The job looks strange and pointless. Standing watch over an empty shore. There is no other option. The film is about that emptiness. Its subject is not finding work and not getting out of the family home. Irfan Mensur, Danilo Stojković and Mira Banjac appear in the ninety minute film, a Yugoslav production Goran Paskaljević finished in 1976.
