Land of the Gods

Rahul lived far from his country for many years. One day he returns to his village in the Himalayas. The village lies in the mountains of Uttarakhand. The man is looking for familiar faces. He walks the lanes and studies the people. Some of them do recognise him. None of them is glad to see him. There is something he did in the past. The village never forgave it. His return sets off a stir in the place. Old accounts are opened again. Daily life in the mountains is hard. The order of the village, meanwhile, has not moved. The way it looks at women and at the lower castes is unchanged. Victor Banerjee and Geetanjali Thapa appear in the ninety two minute film, an Indian and Serbian co-production Goran Paskaljević finished in 2016.
