The Chemical Brothers: Don't Think

The film brings the live show of The Chemical Brothers to the screen. It was shot at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan in front of a crowd of fifty thousand. Recorded on twenty cameras, the concert gives the band’s electronic sound together with the images on stage. The director Adam Smith is the person who has long done the band’s visual work. The band mixed the sound themselves, and two new tracks appear in the film. The account tries to be more than a concert film; it wants to build the experience of being inside the crowd. Putting the viewer in the crowd rather than in front of the stage is the film’s marked choice. Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons are on stage. Adam Smith’s eighty five minute film, a joint British and Japanese production, was completed in 2012.
