What The Climb Is About
The film opens on a climb in France: two friends riding up a hill, and the one in front tells the one behind that he slept with his fiancée, starting a conversation neither can escape. The whole scene is one unbroken take. What follows spreads over years, and the bond between them refuses to break at every point where it should. Covino and Kyle Marvin wrote it together, play under their own names, and build each chapter as a long single take.
