The Courtship of Andy Hardy

Judge Hardy is handling a difficult divorce. The parties are a married couple. There is a dispute over custody between them. The couple have a young daughter. Her name is Melodie Nesbitt. She is shy and has been left on her own. The judge says something to his son. He asks Andy to take her out a little. Andy takes it on. The two of them spend time together. Then Melodie grows attached to him. Andy is unsettled by it. He does not know how to get out of it. The film is the twelfth part of the Hardy family series, with Donna Reed as Melodie. Mickey Rooney, Lewis Stone, Cecilia Parker and Ann Rutherford appear in the ninety five minute film, an American production George B. Seitz finished in 1942.
