What Love Finds Andy Hardy Is About
Andy Hardy's only problem is who to take to the dance, and somehow he is involved with three girls at once. His girlfriend is out of town; he has agreed to keep an eye on a friend's sweetheart; and there is a girl who has just moved in next door who plays the piano and sings. On top of that he has to find the money for a car. As usual, his father, Judge Hardy, steps in at the end. George B. Seitz's film is one of the best remembered entries in the long-running Andy Hardy series of the thirties and forties. Mickey Rooney's energy is the engine of it. But its real place is as the film where Judy Garland joined the series; she sings here, and the character went over so well that she came back in later entries. Lana Turner appears in one of her earliest parts.
