The team interviewed more than ninety educators across eight countries. Germán Doin’s film was itself made in a way that matches the ideas it puts forward: funded entirely by crowdfunding, with hundreds of co-producers, and distributed under a free licence, so copying and reproduction are permitted. In August 2012 it opened simultaneously in more than a hundred cities across thirteen countries. What it argues for is not one alternative but the idea that the existing model is not the only road.
