The Foundation of Criminal Excellence

Imants writes screenplays. His subject is con artists and the schemes they run. He wants the scenes he writes to feel real. So he and his friend Harijs try them out. They work the small swindles themselves. At first this looks like research. Then it gets out of hand. They end up inside real criminal arrangements. Colourful characters keep turning up. Each of them is after a calculation of their own. The hardest opponent turns out to be their neighbour. The woman fears nobody and does not give in. The story runs between crime film and comedy. The shooting was done in Riga. Lauris Kļaviņš and Jana Rubīna appear in the hundred and twenty six minute film, a Latvian production Oskars Rupenheits finished in 2018.
