What The Girl and the Echo Is About
Vika is spending the last days of the summer holiday in a seaside resort in the south. Among the rocks she finds a spot where the echo comes back perfectly clear and decides it belongs to her; then she shares the secret with a boy she has just met, and gets the first real betrayal of her life in return. Arunas Zebriunas made this black and white film from a story by Yuri Nagibin. The sea, the rocks and the sounds are almost the whole of it; the narration uses very few words and watches a child collide with the world for the first time.
