The Heart of Man

The documentary tells a story between a father and a son, in which the father never gives up pursuing him. Interviews are set between the sections of that dramatisation. What is talked about is brokenness, identity and shame. Behind the film stand the questions of pornography, sexual addiction and adultery. The work takes them up from within the frame of Christian faith. That frame is the film’s own; the account keeps no critical distance from it. What people say for themselves makes up the spine of the account. The seventy six minutes are divided between the dramatisation and the interviews. Robert Fleet and Serena Karnagy appear in Eric Esau’s American documentary, completed in 2017.
