The Last Adventure

Manu is a pilot and Roland designs engines, and both lose everything on the same day while chasing their own dreams. Then they hear about a fortune inside an aircraft said to have gone down off the Congo, and travel to Africa with Letitia, a sculptor. Robert Enrico builds it in the shape of an adventure, but the subject is the attachment between three friends and how much that will bear. Alain Delon and Lino Ventura lead, in the first film they made together, and the balance between them is the picture's capital. The diving sequences and the ending are among the most cited passages in French cinema of the period. It begins lightly and grows heavier.
