What The Liar and His Lover Is About
Aki leaves his popular band just as they are about to sign with a major label, and carries on writing music for them under another name. Riko, the daughter of a family that runs a greengrocer's, hears him humming and is drawn to him; they start seeing each other, but she does not know who he is. Then her own band is scouted, without her realising, by the identity Aki is hiding behind. A Japanese romantic music film adapted from a manga. One note is needed: Aki is twenty five and Riko sixteen, and the film treats that as unremarkable.
