The Man Who Saw Too Much

The documentary takes up Enrique Metinides. Metinides is a photographer. He spent his whole life photographing accidents. His place was Mexico City. Crime scenes and accidents were his field. The film asks what that work means. The fate of others was his way of holding on to life. The account treats this as a question of fragility. Another question is this: when does the image of an accident become an object of desire. The film looks at today’s tabloid photographers as well. Mexico City becomes visible through accounts of crime and accident. Pedro Meyer also appears in Trisha Ziff’s American and Mexican coproduction of 2015.
