Thirakkatha

Akbar is a well-known filmmaker. He is looking for a subject for his next film. An actress from an earlier time comes to mind. The woman is called Malavika. Malavika was once widely known. But nobody now knows where she is. Akbar sets out to find her. The search opens onto the past. The film looks at the actresses of that era. As young women they were held in high regard. Then the industry and the press forgot them. The public did the same. The account is built on that forgetting. Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priyamani take the leads, with Anoop Menon also in the cast. The director Ranjith also takes a part in his Malayalam film of 2008.
