What Vabank II Is About
Warsaw in the thirties. The account between Kwinto, a retired safecracker, and the crooked bank manager who once put him inside has not been settled, and the second round begins. Plans, disguises, false identities and a plot that runs like clockwork make it a Polish answer to the American heist films of the period. It follows the 1981 original and the characters come from there, so watch Vabank first. The director Juliusz Machulski's father, Jan Machulski, is at the centre of it as Kwinto, taking the lead in a film directed by his son.
