What Vinci Da Is About
The prosthetics and make-up artist nicknamed Vinci Da can do what nobody else can, yet his honesty and stubbornness leave him without work and without a name. One day a lawyer called Adi Bose offers him a job; the man believes he is cleaning Kolkata of its evil with his own hands, and he uses the faces the artist builds so as to move about unrecognised. By the time Vinci Da understands what he is part of, he is inside the chain and there is no way back. Rudranil Ghosh and Ritwick Chakraborty play opposite one another in Srijit Mukherji’s hundred and seventeen minute Bengali film, which leaves open the question of whether a man who takes justice into his own hands is right. It was completed in 2019.
