A boy from a working-class family and a bored girl from a wealthy one fall for each other, and when she becomes pregnant they both have to run from their parents. Derek Yee refuses to leave it as a story about the teenagers; the film is just as much about the class distance between the two households and what that distance does to children. The parents, played by Eric Tsang, Teresa Mo, Anthony Wong and Candice Yu, carry much of the weight, and Teresa Mo won best supporting actress at the Hong Kong Film Awards for it.
