What Bakuman Is About
Moritaka Mashiro's uncle was a manga artist who worked himself to death, which is why the boy keeps away from drawing. At school the girl he likes tells him she wants to become a voice actress, and sets a condition: they can marry once they have both reached what they are after. So Moritaka teams up with a classmate, Akito Takagi. The target is a high one: getting published in Shonen Jump. Hitoshi One directed the film from the manga of the same name, with Takeru Satoh and Ryunosuke Kamiki. What people talked about most was how the drawing scenes are cut, with the sound of pens and shifts of light, almost like a fight sequence.
