Boys' School

At the Saint-Agil boarding school three friends have formed a secret society; the plan is to get to America one day. One night after a meeting, one of them says he saw a man come out of a wall. The next day that boy disappears. Then the second one goes. It is put about that they ran away, but when the art master is murdered the matter changes. The third boy, the one left, starts investigating on his own. Christian-Jaque adapted the film from Pierre Véry's novel. Erich von Stroheim and Michel Simon are among the masters. It brings a boys' adventure and a film noir together inside the same building, and counts as one of the pre-war classics of French cinema.
