What Brigade Miscellaneous Steps In Is About
Brigade Miscellaneous is the police unit that deals with small crime, taking the work seriously and landing in ridiculous situations while doing it. Mircea Dragan's 1970 film mixes the police procedural with comedy: chases, disguises and jokes that come out of character. Toma Caragiu and Sebastian Papaiani carry the squad, both among the best known faces in Romanian comedy. It reached a wide audience in Romania at the time. Watched now, the streets and daily life of socialist era Bucharest carry a documentary value quite apart from the jokes.
