What Celine: Through the Eyes of the World Is About
The documentary follows the Taking Chances world tour Céline Dion made between 2008 and 2009. Besides the concerts on stage the camera records the journey itself: planes, hotels, rehearsal rooms and the daily life of a woman who has taken her family with her on tour. Her husband René Angélil, their son René-Charles, her sister and her mother appear in the film, so that the figure on stage and the person at home stand in the same frame. Stéphane Laporte’s hundred and twenty minute documentary was built from concerts given across five continents and from moments recorded along the way. It was completed in 2010 and is watched both as a concert film and as a tour diary.
