Cocktail 2

Homi Adajania's film follows Diya and Kunal, together for a decade. The relationship has settled, and the return of an old friend, Ally, upsets it. The narrative comes out of a plan made between the two women. What looks at first like a joke gets out of hand quickly; the film keeps it as comedy while setting old matters in the relationship inside it. Kriti Sanon, Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna take the leads. The film is presented as a continuation of a production with the same name, though the cast and story are separate. The tone is light and the music foregrounded. Who it's for: those who like Indian romantic comedy. Who it's not for: viewers expecting an independent story; the film keeps recalling its link to the earlier production.
