Ethel

The documentary takes up Ethel Kennedy. She is the widow of Robert F. Kennedy. Her daughter Rory Kennedy made the film. Rory is the youngest of the family’s eleven children. She talks with her mother at length. What they talk about first is family. Marriage comes next. Politics is inside the account too. Seven of her brothers and sisters take part as well. After Robert Kennedy was killed Ethel raised eleven children on her own. Those years stand at the centre of the film. Footage never shown before is used from the family’s private collection. The film was screened at Sundance. Rory Kennedy’s American documentary of 2012 runs ninety seven minutes.
