What Fresh Bait Is About
Nathalie wants to open a boutique abroad and has no money. With her boyfriend and his friend she works out a method: she picks up men who look wealthy and goes home with them, and the two young men find the door open and walk in. No stage of the plan has been thought through, and it ends in a killing. This film by Bertrand Tavernier comes from a real case, and its subject is not the crime itself but the idea of wealth the three learned from American films. It won the Golden Bear in Berlin.
