What Il Bi e il Ba Is About
Penniless but able to talk anyone into anything, Antonino Scannapieco collects money from his friends to go to Rome and consult a famous specialist about his dandruff. A run of mishaps and odd encounters awaits him in the capital, and the man’s unshakeable confidence in himself makes things worse at every turn. Directed by Maurizio Nichetti, the eighty five minute Italian comedy opened on 6 March 1986. It was the first leading role for Nino Frassica, who plays Antonino and who had been discovered by Renzo Arbore. Leo Gullotta and Marco Messeri are also in the cast, and the film builds the distance between the south and the capital out of language.
