What Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of the War of the Worlds - The New Generation: Alive on Stage! Is About
The film is the record of a performance given in London of the stage version of a musical album composed in 1978. The production was first brought to the stage in 2006; this recording documents the version prepared in 2013 with a new cast. Well known actors and singers appear on stage, and the show is accompanied by three dimensional projection and an enormous model of a fighting machine. The recording puts the stage technology forward rather than hiding it; how the show is built can be watched as much as the show itself. The account carries its science fiction story through music and a narrating voice. Liam Neeson takes part in Nick Morris’s hundred and nineteen minute recording, completed in 2013.
