Karthik, who wants to be a director, goes to Madurai to study the most feared man in the area, Assault Sethu, so that he can make a realistic gangster film. Caught, he invents a lie to avoid being killed and presents himself as the man who will make Sethu's film. Sethu likes the idea. Karthik Subbaraj builds the first half as a thriller and the second as a comedy about cinema, and that switch is the actual idea: can a camera really change a person. Siddharth plays the director and Bobby Simha the gangster, a part that won Simha a national award. Santhosh Narayanan's score sets the rhythm. Who it is not for: anyone who will mind the tone changing halfway.
