What Lucio Is About
The documentary is about Lucio Urtubia, born in a tiny village in the north of Spain, who spent his life working as a builder in Paris. According to the film this man was at the same time inside anarchist circles; he had talked with Che Guevara, helped one of the leading figures of the Black Panthers, and given one of the most powerful banks in the world a great deal of trouble by forging travellers cheques. What the account dwells on is not the size of these undertakings but the fact that he never missed a day of work while carrying them out. The documentary neither declares him a hero nor passes judgement on him; it leaves the telling to him. Jose Mari Goenaga and Aitor Arregi’s ninety three minute Spanish documentary was completed in 2007.
