Minnaram

Bobby is living an untroubled life when a former lover turns up at his door with a baby girl and says the child is his. As he tries to work out what is behind the claim, the whole order of his life comes apart. Priyadarshan wrote and directed it from a story by Cheriyan Kalpakavadi, building something that carries comedy and pain at once and does not settle into farce by the end. Mohanlal and Shobana lead, with Thilakan and Jagathy Sreekumar in support. S. P. Venkatesh composed the songs to lyrics by Shibu Chakravarthy and Gireesh Puthenchery. It opened on 16 September 1994 and became one of the biggest earners in Malayalam cinema. Years later Priyadarshan made the same story again in Hindi as Hungama 2.
