Os Quatro Paralamas

The documentary tells the forty years of the Brazilian rock band Paralamas do Sucesso. Three of them are on stage: Herbert Vianna, Bi Ribeiro and João Barone. The one the film counts as the fourth is their manager Zé Fortes. Fortes has run the band’s affairs for forty years but is rarely seen in the press. The director Roberto Berliner has known the band since their first concerts in 1983. The account uses archive footage together with interviews. There is a heavy event the film takes up as well: the light aircraft crash in which Herbert Vianna’s wife died and he was left paralysed. Roberto Berliner and Paschoal Samora made this Brazilian documentary, ninety three minutes long, completed in 2020.
