What Rogue Cop Is About

A homicide detective has been taking money from a crime organisation for years. His arrangement runs without trouble and he does not make a problem of it for himself. His brother is a policeman too, but not like him; he will not take a bribe. When the brother is killed, the detective goes after whoever did it. The people he goes after are the men who have been paying him. The film sets that up without handing down a moral. Dark streets, shadow and tight rooms decide the language of the account. It comes out of the American noir vein of the fifties. Robert Taylor, Janet Leigh and George Raft appear in Roy Rowland’s ninety two minute American film, completed in 1954.
