What Star Watching Dog Is About
An abandoned car is found near a camping ground in Hokkaido with the body of an unidentified middle-aged man inside it and, beside him, a dog that died some months later. Kyousuke Okutsu, who works for the city, is assigned to establish who the man was so that he can be buried properly, and the further he follows the trail the more he remembers his own dead family and his own dog. One strand of the story runs from the dog’s point of view. Tomoyuki Takimoto adapted the manga by Takashi Murakami, scripted by Hiroshi Hashimoto. Toshiyuki Nishida plays the man, and it opened in June 2011.
